About The Green Doctor
The Green Doctor is an independent Australian editorial journal for people who want a lawn that survives January, citrus that is not smothered in sooty mould, and natives that look as if they belong on the block. The domain name is the brief: we write about plant health, not garden décor.
The old greendoctor.com.au site left no usable archive on the Wayback Machine — only a parking page. We rebuilt the publication from the name, the climate, and the questions Australian gardeners actually type: why is the buffalo brown, how do I get rid of bindii, what is wrong with these yellow leaves, and when do I prune the roses.
How we work
Each guide is original long-form journalism in Australian English. We prefer diagnosis before product, climate before calendar, and soil before a miracle tonic. Where a chemical is mentioned we name the active constituent and the turf or crop it is safe on. We do not pretend a Perth sandplain behaves like a Melbourne clay.
Staff writers work under their own bylines. Guest contributors must meet the same editorial standards as the desk. If you have a piece that would help a reader in Townsville or Hobart, read write for us and send a pitch.
What we will not do
We will not disguise an advertorial as a guide. Paid or guest-post links carry rel="sponsored". We will not tell you to water every day in a drought, or to use a buffalo-toxic herbicide because the bottle looked handy. Advice here is general; your local water authority, biosecurity rules and label directions still win.
